As an artists' representative she came to realize that artists were equally in need of sound tax advice. The whole self-employed sector of the economy, she eventually saw, was not being properly served. With enormous respect for the talents and imagination of the independent professional, June Walker called upon her education and experience in math, science, art, business, and accounting to develop an accounting practice that would educate the self-employed about the business side of their endeavors.
