Homosapiens is the single species on earth which go along with both the biologic and cultural evolution. The development of medicinal plants for its utility as a therapeutics is one of the greatest successes of the human beings. As a result, over the decades, also the utilization of medicinal plant has become a significant part of every one's daily life even though the progress in the modern clinical and pharmaceutical research. The naturally originated medicines will play an essential role in public health care system of every nation. Indian Material Medical contains about 2000 drugs of natural origin of which 400 are minerals and animal oriented, while the rest are of vegetable origin, Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani system 600-700 herbs for medicinal use (Nomani et al., 2013; Dey et al., 2012). Around 3000 plant species are known to have medicinal qualities in India.As per World Health Organisation (WHO) estimation, almost 80% of the population of developing countries relies on traditional medicines, mostly plant drugs, are used for their primary health care needs (Dey et al., 2012). In fact, it is well known that even in developed countries, the use of traditional medicine is quite prevalent. Even, modern pharmacopoeia still it has at least 25% drugs obtained from herbs and several which are synthetic analogues built on prototype compounds isolated from plants. Demand for medicinal plants is growing in all the part of world due to increasing identification of natural products being non-narcotic, having no side effects, easily available at affordable prices and for a time, the single source of health care existing to the poor. The global demand for medicinal plants is increasing at a faster pace. The high cost of modern medicines, their non-availability in remote areas, and most importantly, the serious side effects of certain drugs, have increased the demand for traditional medicine. The global market value of pharmaceuticals derived from genetic resources was estimated at US $75,000-150,000 million annually.
