Célebre por sus trabajos en los géneros de la ciencia ficción, la intriga y la ficción médica. Se han vendido más de doscientos millones de copias literarias de sus obras, la mayoría superventas, que han sido traducidas a más de treinta y ocho idiomas, y de las cuales doce se han llevado al cine.
