The development of the housing sector is widely recognized as an integral part of economic development. In addition to the large share that the housing sector occupies in the economy, its importance also arises from the positive externalities and spillover effects, and its impact on the social and political climate, issues of particular importance in developing countries. Real estate development is becoming a major issues emerging from the on-going devolution debate, is how housing situation will look like at the country headquarters. They are expected to be the major engines of economic growth and will attract key investments. The main concern is that real estate contribution to the economy of Kenya (as measured in relation to the economic growth) has faced a declining trend for the past years.
