Summertime visits to the Grandparents always bring adventures and sometimes even a stomach ache of mysterious origins. Two young children each enjoy the special relationships of grandparents in the summer time of a Kansas vacation. The tenderness of a grandmother's caress and concern is unsurpassed unless Grandpa has a special formula concocted by the elders. The interplay between siblings, grandparents and a succulent batch of freshly opened prunes form the basis for this family adventure. A great read for family about days gone by too soon. Grandchildren now gone and no longer going to grandma's for the summer will year for those days as this story warms their hearts. The story also brings to light the rapidly departing days of childhood and the awaiting of young adult challenges of college and higher learning, marriage decisions and rearing children. This story understates but the actions of the Yak as the years gather reveal a mature level of acknowledging the years passing. Grandpadat once again presents for the readers a story from the heart.
