I give you the 2nd beast of Daniel 7: Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. "In AD 330, Roman Emperor Constantine moved the capital from Rome eastward to Constantinople, in what is now Turkey. While the western part of the empire began to wane and fall apart, Constantinople and the eastern empire would continue on into the next millennium and was later known as the Byzantine Empire. This would correspond to the raised side of the bear (as the western empire corresponds to the side not risen or maybe unable to rise).The three ribs between its teeth might represent Anatolia (Turkey), Greece and Italy, over which the Byzantine Empire originally stretched. Or they might represent, over the longer term, Turkey, Greece and Russia; as Russia was heavily influenced by Byzantium, and still is to this day.But it is more likely that the ribs represent cities. Biblically, cities are referred to in the feminine, making the "ribs" (Eve was created from Adam's rib) an appropriate reference to cities. This bear, which rose up out of Rome, reigned for a thousand years from Constantinople (its risen side), and continued on after the fall of Constantinople through Byzantine influence over Russia, from Moscow. Moscow was referred to as the "third Rome" after the fall of Constantinople." This "bear" of Daniel 7:5 spans the centuries and takes us to fall of Byzantium in 1453. And there is more. The other two animal/empires that follow will take us further ahead - all the way into our time now. You will be amazed by the prophetic accuracy found throughout that we have been missing, even though it has been sitting in the Bible for thousands of years for all to read. If you are a serious student of Bible prophecy, you will want to read this book. It also will challenge the seminary professors to rewrite their commentaries. If you are not even a believer at all, by the time you finish this book, you will most certainly consider becoming one.
