Una Ecclesia et Cathedra Una. A Retrieval of Cyprian's Model of Church Unity for Global Evangelicalism (en Inglés) - Daniel Eguiluz

While global evangelicalism is marked by the beauty of diversity, it has received criticism for the apparent lack of unity among evangelicals. For Dr. Daniel Eguiluz, engagement with the ideas and practices of Cyprian of Carthage can offer a remedy for the division of the modern church. Cyprian's writings, martyrdom, and collaboration with neighbouring pastors helped to foster the spiritual welfare of the church during a time of severe persecution by the Roman Empire and consequential theological debates. Drawing parallels between the third-century church and the evangelical church of today, this remarkable study demonstrates the biblical conviction that pastors are equal and interdependent as they live out their divine mandate to serve and care for Christ's singular flock. Thus, pastors ought to pursue systematic collaboration while allowing for diversity on non-essentials and striving for doctrinal and disciplinary consensus. Demonstrating great academic vigor, Eguiluz paves the way for pastors around the world on the road to unity.
