Reseña del libro "The way of the Cross for Nurses (en Inglés)"

The Stations of the Cross were a Western adaptation of the Via Dolorosa that pilgrims to Jerusalem would walk in the footsteps of Christ. When churches began including fourteen stations based on the Via Dolorosa, the Christian could take a virtual pilgrimage that many of them would not be able to take in their lifetime. For nurses, the Via Dolorosa, the road from the praetorium to Calvary hill, is a metaphor for our daily walk through the units and community offices where we serve. This devotional book provides wisdom, connecting the spirituality of Jesus' last walk with the daily walk in the life of the nurse.About the author: Jesus is the Divine Physician, but Christian writing often falls short in exploring the meaning of nursing. These devotional meditations are a small attempt to connect the daily lives of nurses to the greater themes of the Bible and our Christian faith. Each of the Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is accompanied by a meditation, with "faith in action" questions to help the nurse apply the teachings of Christ to her daily walk.About the author: Ellen Rice, RN, BSN, studied nursing at Bethel University in Indiana. Her practice has encompassed acute care and community health in various settings. She is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame. Before being called into nursing, she developed content and sales proposals for major publishing houses, and assisted in editing Catholic Dossier and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Quarterly. She has had a longstanding working relationship with St. Augustine's Press in South Bend, Indiana and contributed to the Catholic Schools Textbook Project. Ellen is the editor of the John Paul II LifeGuide: Words to Live By, Where Did I Come From? Where Am I Going? How Do I Get There?," and All Ye Lands: Teacher's Manual.
