Reseña del libro "The Prophet is Like a Mailman (en Inglés)"
The Prophet is Like a Mailman is geared towards children (but equally enjoyed by adults) that teaches the role and importance of prophets in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this book, the prophet is likened to a mailman, since they share some similarities. As a mother myself, I know children are fascinated with the magical jobs of trashmen, firemen, delivery men, etc. This fun comparison is an easy read-aloud book for younger children and for the independent reader. Both prophets and mailmen are wonderful messengers who have important jobs to do! The Prophet is Like a Mailman is designed to answer the following questions: 1.What does a prophet do? 2. Why are prophets important? 3. What kinds of messages do prophets send? As parents raising up children in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it is crucial for our youth to understand that one of the ways we follow Jesus Christ is through His current, living prophet. The prophet sends God's message out to the world, so that all are invited to come unto Christ, that we may be "one fold, one Shepherd." This "special delivery system" of God speaking to His prophets has been the Lord's method of communication to the world since Adam and on down to our current prophet. This book does not replace studying The Book of Mormon and all of the standard works, but rather, it is intended to be a whimsical aid for our young gospel learners.
