Víctor Marie Hugo (Besanzón, Francia, 1802 - 1885) fue un escritor, poeta, dramaturgo y político francés, figura central del Romanticismo y una de las voces literarias más influyentes del siglo XIX. Su obra abarca novelas emblemáticas como Los Miserables (1862), que denuncia la injusticia social en la Francia del siglo XIX, y Nuestra Señora de París (1831), que retrata con fuerza la vida en el París medieval.
