This Book focuses on Nigerian Military School in Zaria. The Nigerian Military School Zaria was founded on 20th 1954, as Boy's company, under the administrative guidance of the Nigerian Regimental Training Centre, but now is referred to as Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria. The first officer commanding the .company was Capt (later Lt Col) W. U Bassey. The original aim of the schools was to enroll interested sons of serving soldiers of not less than 14 years of age into military life and so "to inculcate a family tradition into the force". In line with this aim, therefore, the first batch of thirty boys (known as the first Platoon) that were admitted into the school consist mainly sons of serving soldiers.
