Pam Muñoz Ryan (nacida Pamela Jeanne Banducci el 25 de diciembre de 1951 en Bakersfield, California) es una autora estadounidense de literatura infantil y juvenil con un estilo profundamente multicultural influenciado por su herencia mexicana, vasca, italiana y de Oklahoma. Tras graduarse y obtener una maestría en educación en la Universidad Estatal de San Diego, trabajó como maestra bilingüe y directora de programas educativos antes de dedicarse plenamente a la escritura.

Ha publicado más de 40 libros, que incluyen novelas juveniles, libros ilustrados y lecturas para primeros lectores. Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran Esperanza Rising, basada en la historia de su abuela migrante; Becoming Naomi León; Riding Freedom; The Dreamer; Echo y Mañanaland. Sus historias, ambientadas en diversas épocas y lugares, exploran temas como migración, resiliencia, justicia social y empoderamiento femenino.

Pam ha sido reconocida con múltiples premios literarios nacionales e internacionales, incluyendo la Medalla Pura Belpré, el Honor Newbery, el Premio Américas y el Premio Legacy por su contribución duradera a la literatura infantil.
