Shona Fiona is the adventurous sort...the curious kind, and every morning she wakes excited to discover what the day will bring. On this particular day, with her 6 beanbag dollies, a toy lion and his motorcycle, smiling balloon and stuffed cow, Shona embarks on a walk through the jungles that surround her small, rural home. Equipped with her mismatched rain boots, side satchel, sunglasses and trusty rope, Shona explores the trees, trails and pond that she has already mapped and knows quite well. She becomes friends with a goat along the way, as well as visiting with the cats and ducks she's played with many times. Things become turbulent when after mistaking a dragonfly for a fairy, Shona chases after it without thinking. Leaving her toy and animal friends behind, she foolishly runs deeper into parts of the jungle that she isn't supposed to go. Now her friends must try to find her. With animals and toys teaming up, they frantically go on the search. Through perseverance and teamwork, they are fortunate in catching up to her just before something disastrous occurs. Although Shona is safe and reunited with the group, she realizes that not only was her fairy just a dragonfly the entire time, but now they are also very lost. Before deciding what to do next, Shona must remember to breathe deep and soothe her fears, to clear her mind and regain her confidence. Shona Fiona Finds A New Way Home is a story of the adventurous spirit, of imagination, of independence as well as friendship.
