But, Rell was an exception to the rule. He grew up in the streets but refused to belong to the streets. Rell dreamed to play in the NBA. That dream was shattered when he injured his knee and couldnt play anymore. While recovering, he discovered a talent that was camouflaged behind a basketball. He began to write music. After his brothers death, Rell became more inspired and allowed his dream to live in him. Rell partnered with Masina Music Makers (TheMak3rs) to create a company to market his music. For years, he tried to get the attention of record labels. His talent got worldwide recognition when he was a contestant on The Four with Diddy and DJ Khaled.
