Author Makonnen Sankofa has been to Gambia 3 times. In 2019, he spent 6 months living in Gambia. In this book, Makonnen gives insight into his experiences of Gambia. Makonnen's journey is from the perspective of a person who has African-Caribbean heritage that was born in the diaspora. During Makonnen's time in Gambia, he connected with his African roots and explored opportunities available in Gambia. Highlights of Makonnen's experience included learning about Gambian culture, spending time with the locals, visiting the villages, going to a wedding, teaching in schools, filming and editing videos for Blaxit YouTube channel, and meeting the movers and shakers of Gambia!
