Joan Didion (1934-2021) fue una destacada escritora y periodista estadounidense, conocida por su estilo incisivo y su exploración de la cultura, la política y la memoria personal. Escribió tanto ensayos como novelas, consolidándose como una figura clave del Nuevo Periodismo. Entre sus obras más reconocidas se encuentran El año del pensamiento mágico (2005), un relato autobiográfico sobre el duelo, y Noches azules (2011), ambas pertenecientes al género de la no ficción.
