Reseña del libro "Last Songs for Maynard (en Inglés)"

It is July 1944. John Maynard Keynes, the most famous economist in the world, is sailing on the Queen Mary to America. With him is his beloved wife, the tiny Russian ballerina Lydia Lopokova. Like a god, Keynes is going to settle the future of the world after the war. On board are two troubled young people. Lonely, shy Evie. And Foxe, ruined by the terrible thing he has done. And pent up in steerage are two thousand German prisoners of war. Lydia decides Maynard must have music, the only sound that improves on silence. And Foxe and Evie must provide it. They need musicians. They find them amongst the German prisoners. But the Germans are despairing, desolated by defeat. How far will they go? And how will they drag Evie into the worst peril of her young life? Can the godlike Maynard not only save the world but Evie too? A novel of despair in defeat and coming of age for a new, better world
