Justin E. H. Smith (Reno, Estados Unidos, 1972) es doctor en Filosofía por la Columbia University. Entre 2003 y 2013 se desempeñó como docente en la Concordia University, en Montreal, y actualmente es profesor de Historia y Filosofía de la ciencia en la Université de Paris. Además, es miembro del laboratorio de investigación sphere, de la misma universidad. En 2019 y 2020, participó del programa internacional de becas del Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers, y desde 2020 escribe ensayos críticos y de filosofía en su boletín digital Justin E. H. Smith’s Hinternet.
Ha escrito numerosos artículos en revistas especializadas y colabora frecuentemente para publicaciones como The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, Art in America, entre otras. Ha compilado, entre otros, los volúmenes The Problem of Animal Generation in Early Modern Philosophy (2006) y Embodiment. A History (2017). Además, es autor de los libros Divine Machines.
