I.V.F. + 2 = Joy
This is Sandy and Rick's story based on their real life experience as they navigated the challenges of their I.V.F. journey.

They were very naïve about the process before they started. Fortunately they went to a very professional Clinic.
From the pamphlet in the waiting room, Rick learnt that couples mainly dropped out for one of two reasons: financial or emotional. Rick's business was doing well, so that only left the emotional issues to be dealt with.

Later he researched the success rates of I.V.F. and, to his dismay, he learnt that Sandy, at thirty seven on her first attempt, faced a statistical failure rate of 62%. That was his first taste of what was referred to as the 'emotional roller-coaster'.

After numerous failures, they had become familiar with all the procedures, but they suffered on the emotional ups and serious downs, which had turned into a roller-coaster, big dipper and the swings, all at the same time.

They longed to have children and Rick realised that they had to develop a coping mechanism. Sandy had to stop being a passenger in the process and despite all the things being done to her, she had to centre herself and be available to the creation of life. It took a lot longer than expected, but it worked.
