The 3rd book shows how both of their relationship becomes closer. There's still misunderstanding between them, and you can see how they can interpret each other's words and actions differently. Its funny, especially when Wei Yanzi is putting effort to 'flirt' Gu Yiliang and it ended up a bit awkward. The manhua itself is a bit of a slow burn, you need to be patience while reading it. It feels like there's a long time to go before you can see something sparks between them.
