SCIENCE MUST REFLECT THEOLOGICAL TRUTH. God reveals Himself through both nature and Scripture. Yet, the evolution-creationism debate continues to serve only vitriol, further polarizing the extreme views. Although literal interpretation of the Bible may seem to suggest that the two are in conflict, other interpretations are possible. This book, based on an understanding of Hebrew, various Biblical translations, and opinions of ancient theologians, will evaluate the harmony between Genesis 1 and the scientific description of cosmology and evolution. To frame the issue, the book begins by defining what such agreement would look like and how science and faith could harmonize. Then, the origin stories of science and Scripture are compared systematically for the universe, for life and for humanity, seeking points of overlap and complement. Finally, after weighing six days of Creation against 13.8 billion years of cosmology and evolution, the book concludes with three creative events, three creative roles, and "why" anything exists at all.
