Reseña del libro "Forge the Son. A Father's Manual for Raising Sons by the Spirit That Built America (en Inglés)"

In 1776, America declared something the world had never heard before.

Not just independence from a king. Independence from the assumption that men cannot govern themselves. That liberty is a gift from power rather than an endowment from God. That a boy must be managed rather than formed.

The men who signed that Declaration were not born great. They were forged. By fathers, by communities, by a formation tradition that had been tested for 150 years on the American frontier before a single shot was fired at Lexington. They studied the Bible and the classics. They governed their towns before anyone gave them permission. They raised sons who could think for themselves, build with their hands, lead without institutional approval, and stand under pressure that would break a man who had never been expected to bear weight.

That tradition has been broken. This book restores it.

Forge the Son is not a parenting book. It is a formation manual. Historically grounded, theologically serious, and practically actionable. Drawing from the American founding, the classical tradition, and the biblical covenant of fatherhood, it gives fathers a complete framework for raising sons capable of self-rule, civic leadership, and faith-driven purpose.

The book moves in four movements: Foundation, Character, Competence, and Covenant. Thirteen chapters. Each one opens in history. In the meetinghouses of colonial New England. At Valley Forge. In Witherspoon's classroom. On the floor of the Brandywine Iron Works. Each chapter closes with a specific formation practice a father performs with his son. Not suggestions. Charges.

As America prepares to celebrate 250 years of liberty in July 2026, the question is not whether the Founders were great. The question is whether we are raising sons worthy of what they built.

Brett Hahn is the founder of AmRev Resurrected and a Son of the American Revolution. His seventh great-grandfather, Thomas Murphy, served in the Salem Militia of New Jersey under General Washington. He writes from Wolcottville, Indiana, where the frontier mentality that shaped this country is not nostalgia. It is still a living way of life.

The First Republic Series, Volume One.

The forge is the home. The father is its first magistrate. The hand on the hammer is yours.
