The Saga of Finnr and the Gatekeeper

A tale remembered among the northern seas.

When the Viking longship Svarthrafn sails east in search of wealth, the crew expects battle, silver, and glory.

Instead they find misfortune.

After a disastrous raid costs four men their lives, strange signs begin to follow the ship across the sea. A monstrous creature drives them off course, and before they can escape the storm they are dragged into a spiraling current that plunges beneath the world itself.

The sailors awaken in Niflheim - a frozen land of mist and wandering souls where the laws of nature no longer hold.

There they meet Gáttmær, a mysterious gatekeeper who has watched the boundary between worlds for centuries. She alone knows the hidden river that leads back to Midgard.

But the journey home winds through the realm of the dead itself - past ancient giants, strange frost-beasts, and Hel, ruler of the underworld.

And when the voyage ends, the gatekeeper must choose between the immortality she has known for centuries... or a mortal life beside the man who helped guide her home.
