A tragedy that occurred in Salida's life prior to meeting Drew has placed a cloud overhead from which she cannot escape. Even Tamara, Drew's best friend since childhood and a woman whose life in some ways can rival the life of Mother Teresa, struggles with letting go of an ex-boyfriend who finds joy in manipulating Tamara's feeling as his whims dictate.
