Book updated Feb 2021. In California, the Contractors State License Board CSLB protects consumers by regulating the construction industry. According to the CSLB, anyone performing construction work in California that totals $500 dollars or more in labor and materials must be licensed. Candidates are required to focus their attentions on a number of construction related topic areas but this study notes will focus on topics related to laws, regulations, contract administration and finance.
