Reseña del libro "Banishing the Black Dog: Surviving FIFO (en Inglés)"

The Black Dog of depression relentlessly preys on the lonely, the troubled and the vulnerable. But nowhere is he more active than in the remote Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) mining and construction camps scattered around the world. With over 25 years of FIFO experience, the author is well placed to illuminate this poorly understood lifestyle and the associated physical and mental health issues that plague those involved. The book explains things such as FIFO, DIDO, BIBO, LAHA, rosters, earning potential, work tenure, work environments, personal interaction and remote camp life. The book provides a unique insight into the causes of, and ways to combat, such things as stress, loneliness, depression, health and relationship problems. The book is written as an educational tool for those already playing the FIFO game, those contemplating this challenging lifestyle and anyone else with a vested interest in FIFO.
