Fr. Jean-Pierre de Caussade's 18th Century work of spiritual direction, 'Abandonment to Divine Providence', has rightly become a classic of Christian literature. Divided into two parts, the French Jesuit first considers the implications of relinquishing our own petty wills in favour of complete reliance on that of the Deity, describing the many spiritual blessings that derive from such 'Abandonment'.
