Having the ability to have offspring with an 'alpha' that is strong, smart, and quick are all desirable traits to have in a lion cub, and just like the lionesses in the pride, human women also locate men, 'alpha men', that exhibit the same sort of qualities to not only protect their children but also pass on those traits through the generations.
