"We are Cousins!" is a children's picture book that places emphasis on family and relations. The objective of the story is of one child's understanding of how important it is to enjoy getting together with family members. In this picture book, Enzo is visiting with his cousins Sophie and Emma. Everyone is looking forward to the quality fun time, celebrating family. The cousins are happy to see each other and play a game of soccer! In this whimsical story the older cousin Sophie introduces her younger cousin and sister to the reader. She shares their ages. They both are three years old. Sophie is also taking up the role of the older sibling. She is demonstrating her role by caring in taking charge and making suggestions. Enzo is enjoying the experience of helping his cousins play soccer. He is participating in the encouraging remarks when they are due. The cousins are responding with joy to Enzo's kind remarks, while they all are having an enjoyable time outdoors. Exploring a game of soccer is joy for young children. Young children enjoy getting involved. It gives them the chance to learn about their strengths and their awareness of the interactions process. Children learn and observe how things happen. They learn in a concrete and tangible ways. It is part of the child's nature to be inquisitive and observant. It gives them great satisfaction knowing that they are participants. Helping children learn a skill is an integral part of their development. Family means a source of comfort and nurturing for the young child. Being an active member of a family will allow the space for children to build and develop trust, sense of identity and mostly a sense of belonging. The family provides children with a sense of a unique identity. This interpersonal relationship will help them grow and develop effectively. A family is also the source of emotional support comfort, warmth nurturing, protection and refuge. The family relations do contribute significantly and benefits the child's thriving process. Children flourish when they are in a reliable environment, one that provides love, nurture, kindness and security. All these elements are integral attributes for the child's well development and growth. The story paves the way for other children to be willing to be interactive with other family members to bond and build an everlasting relationship. The participation in one's own environment is a significant attribute to one child's well fare that is the hope for the future of mankind. Children at young age learn through their daily life experiences to relate to one anther in productive and positive ways. In the meantime, they develop a sense of their being while in the socially interactive environment. The experiences that will appropriately get them involved so to have an understanding on how relations work.
