Reseña del libro "Warrior Words: ND Veterans share their stories (en Inglés)"

The collection before you is the work of members in the workshops held in four locations around the state sponsored by the Wal-mart Foundation and the ND Humanities Council. The stories include those written by a U.S. Navy man who served in World War II all the way up to a young marine who served in the "second Gulf War." The writers gathered in Grand Forks in May, 2014 to read their work. Tears were shed, many a handshake given, old and new friends met, and -- more stories were shared. We hope that Warrior Words will continue to invite people to share their stories, their piece in history with others. The Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre is proud to have played a role in gathering these stories. It is our intention to craft them into stage monologues, which we can perform for audiences around the state, and perhaps the country. These Warrior Words show that courage comes in many forms; writing and sharing one's story is one form. Thanks to the instructors who took a leap of faith in heading the workshops: Nita Ritzke (Bismarck), Peter Grimes (Dickinson), Conrad Davidson (Minot), and Sheryl O'Donnell (Grand Forks). Thank you for supporting this project, and thank you to the North Dakota Humanities Council, particularly Brenna Gerhardt for believing in this project from its beginning. And, of course, thank you to the writers who showed their bravery once again by putting these words on paper and then sharing them with the public.
