This book is a retelling of the Nativity story through the eyes of Uriel, a young shepherd boy, and brings a fresh perspective. The light that draws Uriel to the site of the miracle is itself miraculous. Uriel's experience at the manger has a profound, and at first misinterpreted, impact on him after he leaves the Holy Family to retrieve a cloak to cover the Christ child. Just as Uriel uses the light of Christ to navigate through the countryside, so are we to use that light to navigate through our own life journey. Although we carry that light with us throughout our lives, we need stories like this to remind us, not only that we can rely on it, but that we are to be that light for others.
