Traitor King, by Sunday Times bestselling author Andrew Lownie, looks at the years following the abdication of Edward VIII when the former king was kept in exile, feuding with his family over status for his wife, Wallis Simpson, and denied any real job.

Drawing on extensive research into hitherto unused archives and Freedom of Information requests, it makes the case that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were not the naïve dupes of the Germans but actively intrigued against Britain in both war and peace.

Andrew Lownie estudió en el Magdalene College de Cambridge, donde fue Premio Dunster de Historia y Presidente de la Unión, antes de cursar su maestría y doctorado en la Universidad de Edimburgo. Miembro de la Royal Historical Society, regresó posteriormente a Cambridge como profesor visitante en el Churchill College.

Ha sido librero, editor y periodista, escribiendo para The Times, The Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, The Spectator y The Guardian, y desde 1988 dirige su propia agencia literaria especializada en historia y biografía.

Es presidente del Club de Biógrafos, miembro de la junta directiva de la Organización Internacional de Biógrafos y fideicomisario de la Campaña por la Libertad de Información.

Nacido en Kenia y criado en las Bermudas, reside actualmente en Londres, cerca de la Abadía de Westminster. Tiene un interés particular en los espías, Escocia y la biografía revisionista.
