Benji Davies es ilustrador, autor y director de animación. Estudió animación en la universidad, donde aprendió a contar historias con imágenes, desde cortometrajes y videos musicales, hasta libros ilustrados.

Su primer libro ilustrado The Storm Whale ganó el premio inaugral Oscar's Book y fue Dutch Picture Book of the Year 2017. Su segundo, Grandad's Island, ganó la categoría de libro infantil de los AOI World Illustration Awards, fue coronado Children's Book of the Año en los Sainsbury's Children's Book Awards y desde entonces ha sido adaptado para el escenario.
