Philipp Blom (Hamburgo, 1970) es un historiador, novelista y ensayista alemán, destacado por su enfoque interdisciplinario que abarca historia cultural, filosofía y crítica social. Estudió historia, filosofía y estudios judaicos en Viena y Oxford, donde obtuvo un doctorado en Historia Moderna. Ha residido en ciudades como Londres, París y actualmente vive en Viena. Además de su labor como escritor, ha trabajado como periodista, traductor y presentador de programas culturales en la radio austriaca Ö1.

Entre sus obras más reconocidas se encuentran Años de vértigo: Cultura y cambio en Occidente, 1900-1914 (2008), La fractura: Vida y cultura en Occidente, 1918-1938 (2015) y El motín de la naturaleza (2019. Su estilo narrativo y analítico ha sido elogiado por su capacidad para conectar procesos históricos con problemáticas contemporáneas. Blom ha recibido diversos reconocimientos por su contribución al pensamiento europeo actual.
