During the 1960s he had an international hit, "Make the World Go Away," was the first "Entertainer of the Year" for the Country Music Association and was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Eddy Arnold: His Life and Times looks at Eddy Arnold in terms of the history of country music as well as the changes in the United States after World War II. Don Cusic is the Curb Professor of Music Industry History at Belmont University in Nashville and is one of the leading historians of country music.
