Edgar Morin (París, 1921), nacido como Edgar Nahum, es un destacado filósofo y sociólogo francés, figura clave del pensamiento complejo y la transdisciplinariedad. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, participó activamente en la Resistencia francesa. Fue investigador en el CNRS (Centro Nacional de Investigación Científica) de Francia desde 1950.

Su obra revolucionaria, sintetizada en El Método (iniciado en 1977), propone superar la visión fragmentada del conocimiento, integrando saberes biológicos, sociales y humanísticos. Crítico de los medios de comunicación y defensor de un humanismo planetario, ha explorado la crisis del individuo moderno. Con más de 100 años, sigue vigente como crítico social y defensor de la democracia, la educación y la cultura.
