What makes this story so accessible is that the characters are ordinary working people. It's a fantastic and yet very believable story. Frank and Lucy's discovery comes about quite accidentally as a result of their deep love for each other.
They had come together years before not just as a man and a woman. They had come together as allies in the healing process. The story begins with them having set themselves free from their early life wounds and they go a step beyond that healing too. Through their process they become innocent again, but not naive, just innocent. Wisdom and maturity accompany their recovery of innocence.
They become a source of inspiration to many of their friends and neighbors, and the unraveling process begins to happen for a few others too. It's a perilous journey for many to make but it's one very few of the villagers can resist taking, for they have grown weary of living safe, comfortable lives and they see how happy Frank and Lucy are. Understanding that the same possibility exists for them too, they're inspired to become free of the past at any cost now. They want more than anything, to find real fulfillment in their lives.
Frank and Lucy quickly realize they have discovered a secret treasure, lost long ago in the deep waters of the collective unconscious. The best thing about their find is that there's enough of this treasure to go around for everyone to lead a rich life ...a very rich life indeed.
