Reseña del libro

"One Precariat Place" is a collection of poems, short stories and monologues written between 2010 and 2015 and focused on the political, personal and spiritual aspect of our precarious lives. "Precariat" is a recent term used to describe those whose existence has no predictability or security. (Half Proletariat, half precarious). Those on temporary contracts or zero-hour contracts are the classic examples, but the term here is more broadly used. At times raucous, caustic and comic, other times gently humoured and understated. John Cooper Clarke meets Robbie Burns after listening to the music and lyrics of post-punk band Magazine and the more contemporary Radiohead. In "The Superiority of Contemporary Western Culture," - "Two overweight girls in fifties undies, force feed each other Victoria sponges," in a poem about the west's obsession with food. Elsewhere! Have you ever re-assembled a mission statement after rescuing it from the shredder? Or, been on a covert observation with the police? Perhaps you are wondering what it would be like to go on a package holiday with Jesus?
