More importantly, the author brings to light the need for children to not only go outside and play, but also for them to use their imagination. In today's society, technology is taking away the very essence of creativity and discovery for themselves. Those wondrous games of yesteryear taught character, rules, discipline, self-management, and values. They taught how to take turns, as well as how to win or lose graciously in the competition.
