The purpose of the present study was to compare the explosive strength through standing broad jump and vertical jump between male inter-college level volleyball and basketball players. For this study, fifty volleyball players (N-25) and basketball Players (N=25) ranging between 17 to 25 years were selected randomly from different colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh. To compare the mean difference between the male volleyball and basketball players on explosive strength, 't' test was employed. The level of significance chosen was .05. The calculated 't' value in case of male volleyball and basketball players in standing broad jump was not found to be statistically significant as the value obtained was 0.419. The mean difference of standing broad jump of male volleyball and basketball players was 0.27. In case of vertical jump, the calculated 't' value was found to be statistically significant as the value obtained was 3.192 whereas, the tabulated value was 2.02 which 48 degrees of freedom at .05 level of significance. So, it is concluded that, volleyball players have more explosive strength in case of vertical jump than their counterpart basketball players
