Our Blessed Hope It is said no man can live without hope, much more so for the church. With Jesus our Alpha and Omega, the doctrine of his coming is as crucial as how we are saved. This is not the place for agreeable fiction, the stuff of Tim LaHaye, or that other version of left behind, where the saints stay for trumpets and vials. Some balance is needed, if Scripture agrees, and that is the goal of this book. In his careful treatise Caught Up Together, author Joe Conti gives the reasons why: 1. Rapture or raptus is not inappropriate for a forceful snatching away 2. With power and glory not weakness and shame, Christ’s sign is not a cross 3. John’s seven years are literal and must wait for the seals to be opened 4. He that letteth is not the Spirit, leaving the earth with the church. And those who reject the doctrine of election set themselves up for deceit.
