Reseña del libro

Is it possible to put ourselves in the shoes of an ill person? How should we make decisions that affect them? The turn of this century has seen a growing concern with bioethics from various perspectives, including multiculturalism, feminism, empiricism and narrative. This book focuses on three major arguments that justify the complementarity between bioethics and literature: bioethics and narration, cases to consider, and methodological questions. While the use of storytelling, analogies and fiction offer possibilities for better understanding one’s own pain and that of others, the complex task of putting oneself in another’s place also raises numerous communication barriers that may require the veil of writing to overcome.
